WeKnowIt was externally reviewed during an Advisory Board meeting held in Karlsruhe on April 8th, in the context of the regular WKI consortium meeting (April 7-9). In the Advisory Board meeting, which lasted a whole working day, all second year's progress was presenteed and reviewed, and the Advisory Board memebers provided valuable feedback to the consortium.

The Advisory Board comprised:

In terms of the liaison activities beetween WeKnowIt and Pronto, the members of the Pronto consortium have signed a non-disclosure agreement with the Sheffield City Council, in order to acquire media data from SCC. Cooperation between the two projects is expected to continue with further data exchange, pilots testing, and common organisation of events and workshops.

The WeKnowIt Grand Travel Challenge was succesfully conducted during the Consortium meeting that was held in Barcelona on 20-22 February 2010. The consortium tested their own technologies using the 1st version of the Consumer Social Group travel application on a field test in the streets of Barcelona. Collective intelligence and personalization services provided automatically produced mobile guidance and POIs recommendations to each traveller.

The novel mobile application csxPOI (short for: collaborative, semantic, and context-aware points-of-interest) enables its users to collaboratively create, share, and modify semantic points of interest (POI). Semantic POIs describe geographic places with explicit semantic properties of a collaboratively created ontology. As the ontology includes multiple subclassifications and instantiations and as it links to DBpedia, the richness of annotation goes far beyond mere textual annotations such as text.
