Conference April 10th-12th 2024
Crete (Greece)
In 2024 the I-ESA (Interoperability for Enterprise Systems and Applications) conference is coming back with the I-ESA’24, after many successful past conferences. The first I-ESA conference was the I-ESA’05, organized in Geneva in February 2005; which followed by the I-ESA’06, organised in March 2006 in Bordeaux; I-ESA’07, organised in March 2007 in Funchal; I-ESA’08, organized in March 2008 in Berlin; I-ESA’09, organized in April 2009 in Beijing, I-ESA’10 organized in April in Coventry, I-ESA’12 organized in March in Valencia, I-ESA’14 organized in March in Albi, I-ESA’16 organized in April in Guimarães, I-ESA’18 organized in March in Berlin, I-ESA’20 organized in November in Tarbes and I-ESA’22 organised in March in Valencia.
This year I-ESA community will meet in the beautiful island of Crete in Greece.
The term interoperability is being used to describe the ability of different systems, products, devices, or applications to connect and communicate in a coordinated way, without requiring significant effort from the customer or the end user. Functions of interoperable components include data access, data transmission and cross-organizational collaboration regardless of its developer or origin. Interoperability helps industries to develop high quality products with higher levels of efficiency, and customization, while minimizing the cost of production. Coupled with the digital transition through interoperability solutions, nowadays the green transition is more than necessary for large enterprises to ensure sustainable growth and efficiency in production.
The current environment ecosystems have associated high uncertainty levels due to both endogenous and exogenous variables, which change very dynamically and therefore affect to companies. These organisations welcome tools that help them out not only to analyse and improve their products and processes but also predict their performance. An example of such a tool is the Digital Twin technology, which can use real world data to replicate a product or process performance, by integrating IoT, AI and software analytics tools.
Enterprise Interoperability (EI) is the ability of an organization to work with other organizations without special effort. The capability to interact and exchange information both internally and with external organisations (partners, suppliers, customers, citizens…) is a key issue in the economic and public sector. It is fundamental in order to produce goods and/or services quickly and at lower cost, while ensuring higher levels of quality, customisation, services and security.
I-ESA’24 will offer an outstanding opportunity to industries to exchange experience and problems on business interoperability in their daily operations. The I-ESA conferences have been recognized as a tool to lead and generate an extensive research and industrial impact in the field of Interoperability for Enterprise Systems and Applications. I-ESA brings together the world’s leading researchers and practitioners in the area of enterprise interoperability, and it is a unique forum for the exchange of visions, ideas, research results and industrial experiences, dealing with a wealth of interoperability research subjects.
