Spiros Nikolopoulos and Dimitrios Ververidis from Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) have visited the area of Aigai in Vergina, Greece, to inspect the requirements for the respective use case. The partial restoration of the Palace of Aigai that was build during the Reign of Philip II (359 – 336 B.C.) takes place and it is expected to finish in 2020. The restoration is targeted to be partial but not complete. Based on a Virtual Model of the place, the DigiArt project aims to provide to the users the experience to be immersed in a Virtual Reality environment in order to “see” the Palace complete from inside or outside. Thanks to archaeologists Katerina Nikolaidou and Yiannis Grekos from the Museum of Aigai, a complete vision for the future developments has been established.
