DemAAL 2013 will include daily lectures by leading researchers from academia and industry, which will cover theoretical and practical aspects pertinent to pervasive and ubiquitous computing technologies for Ambient Intelligence (AmI) applications, while special focus will be given on the role and opportunities of such technologies for dementia management.

Lecture material will be augmented with hands-on practical sessions. Participants will be provided with electronic versions of all programme lectures and all necessary tools and environments for the hands-on sessions. PC access with all tools pre-installed will be available on site as well.

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to present their work and obtain feedback during a dedicated poster session intended to further facilitate interactions and the exchange of ideas.

The summer school schedule includes a number of exciting social events allowing interaction among participants, visiting local attractions and tasting the local cuisine including a welcome gala dinner, a guided sightseeing tour to the city of Chania and a beach excursion.
