New IVUS-ANGIO tool for automatic detection of lumen and media-adventitia boundaries. It's an integrated system that enables a complete analysis of both angiography and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) image sequences, either in DICOM video or JPEG format.

An Ontology Infrastructure for multimedia news analysis and representation has been made publicly available. This Ontology Infrastructure was developed within the MESH project and includes, among others, a Multimedia Information Object Ontology and a Domain Ontology; the former is based on the Information Object Design Pattern that extends the DOLCE core ontology, while the latter is based on an extension of the IPTC tree for news categorization.

With the intention to develop scientific co-operation through the mobility of doctoral students, Queen Mary University of London and Centre for Research and Technology Hellas agreed to co-supervise doctoral research theses. Starting in 2009, MKLab of ITI, together with Multimedia and Vision Research Group of QMUL, are co-supervising doctoral students and are collaborating in Multimedia Analysis and Retrieval areas.
