The WikiRate Project has the vision of helping consumers express themselves as ethical economic citizens. The objective of WikiRate is to be the ‘go-to’ place for information on companies’ social and environmental practices, allowing consumers and stakeholders such as policymakers or the media to be better informed. Ultimately, the project will provide companies with additional incentive to act sustainably.

Sandbox2 is the frontend of the Intelligent Data Scraping Framework (IDSF). The purpose of IDSF is to enable WikiRate to be automatically populated with sources and ratings, scraped from known external, structured and relevant websites.

Sandbox2 was developed by Multimedia Knowledge and Social Media Analytics Laboratory of the Information Technologies Institute and it is currently supported by the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme, under grant agreement 609897
