Call for Special Sessions

The Program Committee of WIAMIS 2007, the 8th International Workshop on Image Analysis for Multimedia Interactive Services, to be held June 6-8, 2007, in Santorini, Greece, invites proposals for Special Sessions.

Special Sessions in WIAMIS 2007 are expected to have between 5 and 8 papers each. Papers solicited for special sessions will undergo the same rigorous reviewing process by anonymous reviewers as regular papers. Accepted special sessions may be supplemented by papers selected from the general pool depending on the reviews of the papers originally proposed for the session. Special Session papers will be published together with regular papers in the conference proceedings. At least one author for each paper in the special sessions must register for the conference and present the paper.

Submitting a proposal:

Proposals for special sessions must include a title, motivation, session outline, contact information for the session chair, short biography of the Special Session chair, a list of authors who have agreed to present a paper in the session if their papers are accepted, and a tentative title and abstract of each paper.

Proposals for special sessions should be submitted to Murat Tekalp (mtekalp@ku.edu.tr) by December 8, 2006. Prospective organizers are strongly encouraged to contact Prof. Tekalp in advance. Notification of acceptance of proposals is scheduled for December 18, 2006, while the deadlines for paper submission and review are the same as for regular papers.
