WIAMIS 2007, The International Workshop on Image Analysis for Multimedia Interactive Services 2007, was held in Santorini, Greece, during 6 - 8 June 2007 and was organized by the Multimedia Knowledge Group of the Informatics and Telematics Institute and the National Technical University of Athens.
The International Workshop on Image Analysis for Multimedia Interactive Services is one of the main international fora for the presentation and discussion of the latest technological advances in interactive multimedia services. The objective of the conference was to bring together researchers and developers from academia and industry working in all areas of image, video and audio applications, with a special focus on analysis.
This year the technical program of WIAMIS 2007 included 84 accepted papers, organized in 6 regular oral sessions, one special session organized by the COST 292 action, and 2 poster sessions. It also included two very exciting invited talks:
Furthermore, to stimulate interaction between the workshop participants and strengthen the link between academia and industry, we included in the workshop program an industry session, featuring talks by key industry players (Google, Deutsche Welle, Accenture, Sportscout), and a panel on audiovisual search engines, organized with the support of the CHORUS coordination action.
WIAMIS 2007 was a very successful event that brought together for 3 days over 100 experts from academia and industry.
WIAMIS 2008 will be organized by Klagenfurt University in Klagenfurt, Austria.
