SSMS 2006 will be held in Chalkidiki, Greece. Chalkidiki is a peninsula, 69km southeast of the city of Thessaloniki. Sunny, golden sandy beaches, deep and picturesque gulfs, traditional villages and modern tourist resorts, small islands and sheltered bays, pine-clad hills descending to the sea, Mediterranean climate and magnificent natural beauty compose the picture of today's Chalkidiki.

SSMS 2006 will be hosted in Pallini Beach Hotel, in Kallithea, Chalkidiki. Situated on the Kassandra peninsula of Chalkidiki, 75 km from Thessaloniki’s airport, 800 m from the village of Kallithea, on a long sandy beach, surrounded by luscious gardens, Pallini Beach offers its guests a great variety of comforts. TRAVEL INFORMATION

Chalkidiki can be accessed by road, or by air through Thessaloniki's international airport. The state-run "KTEL" (20 minutes from airport Macedonia) offers a daily coach service from Thessaloniki to Chalkidiki, while local buses transport visitors between inland villages and coastal resorts.

In order to reach the Summer School location two options are offered:

1. Direct TAXI service from the airport costs 60-70€ and takes around one hour, depending on traffic. Ask the taxi driver to take you to "Pallini Beach Hotel" in Kallithea, Chalkidiki.
2. On arrival at airport Macedonia in Thessaloniki, you can easily get a TAXI to Chalkidiki’s bus station (tel. +30 2310 316555). Ask the taxi driver to take you to "KTEL Chalkidiki", the fare is around 10€.

   Notice: Ask the bus driver to make a stop at "Pallini Beach Hotel".
