Briassouli Alexia

Alexia Briasouli received the Diploma degree in electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1999, the Masters degree from the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program: "Signal and Image Processing Systems: Theory, Implementations, Applications (SIPS)",  from the University of Patras in 2001, and the PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005. Since 2006 she has been a postgraduate research fellow at the Information Technologies Institute at CERTH. From 2006-2010 she taught signal, image and video processing at the undergraduate and graduate levels as an adjunct professor at the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering, in the University of Thessaly, Greece.

Her current research interests include computer vision and statistical video processing for event detection and recognition, activity recognition, analysis of crowds and temporal textures. She is the author of over 55 journal and conference publications. She has organized workshops and served as a reviewer for international journals and conferences.
