ITI extracts concepts from patent images

Patent searchers are searching using concepts to retrieve patents of interest. In many cases the concepts are described by complex patent images. ITI proposes a supervised machine learning-based approach to extract concepts from patent images combining visual and textual information. Read more here..

Survey article accepted in Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery journal

The article "Community Detection in Social Media" by Symeon Papadopoulos, Yiannis Kompatsiaris and Athena Vakali has been accepted for publication in the Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery journal (impact factor: 2.95).

Best demo award for ClustTour in ICMR '11

ClustTour received the best demo award at the International Conference in Multimedia Retrieval 2011 (Trento, Italy). The demo was selected by conference attendants as the best out of 16 competing demos.

ClustTour will be presented in the premises of NOESIS science museum in Thessaloniki during the event "A night in the future", in a session where new and transforming technologies will be presented.

CERTH-ITI and Ergobyte collaboration was selected as a successful knowledge exchange practice

CERTH-ITI and Ergobyte collaboration in the field of medical knowledge representation, reasoning and retrieval (a semantic repository of pharmaceutical knowledge regarding drug use and prescriptions) was selected as a successful knowledge transfer and knowledge exchange practice example by the INNOPOLIS project to be documented and presented in detail. The documentation and presentation will be carried out by the South-East European Research Centre (SEERC), a member of the INNOPOLIS consortium.
