Workshop
Knowledge in Multimedia Content
November 22, 2006, 11:00-12:30 in Room 206,
The demand for efficient methods for extracting
knowledge from multimedia content has led to a growing research community
investigating the convergence of multimedia and knowledge technologies, and a
number of European, national and industrial projects in the area. Technologies
for retrieving semantic information from multimedia content enable new applications
and services both for commercial and end users. The aim of the workshop is to
present and draw appropriate strands of work which can serve as a reference for
future research. The workshop will provide an overview of current research in
the area of multimedia and knowledge technologies with speakers from industry
and academia, representing a number of EU projects.
